A new creative home for Origins Inconclusive in Chichester

Studio Inconclusive is open for sessions. Origins’ new recording and production space in West Sussex gives its artists a place to create, while founder Cadyn Lewis shares his experience of building a music business locally through Chichester’s Story.
Origins Inconclusive has a new place to make music. Studio Inconclusive, its recording and production space at Chichester Enterprise Centre, is now open for bookable sessions. For the independent record label and publishing company, the room creates a base for its artists to write, record and spend time together, while welcoming musicians from Chichester and the wider area.
Finding a room to make music again
For founder Cadyn Lewis, who releases music as KDYN, the need was personal. He has lived in the Chichester region since mid-2024, but a later move within the area left him without access to his previous music-making space. Establishing a dedicated studio meant having room to write, experiment and make his own music again.
Chichester District Council helped him find a space. The work that followed involved building and soundproofing a studio inside a commercial office building, turning it into a room shaped around songwriting, vocal recording and production.
Having somewhere to do that again honestly feels like I’m back.
In his studio announcement, Lewis also looked forward to bringing the label’s artists into the room and sharing it with the local music community. The space gives him somewhere to return to his own practice, and somewhere for those creative relationships to grow.
Inside Studio Inconclusive
The room brings instruments and production tools together within easy reach: a Yamaha acoustic upright piano, guitars, synthesisers and a Sontronics Mercury microphone. Dynaudio Core 47 monitors and a Prism Sound Atlas-Dante form part of the recording setup. Warm lighting and wood sit alongside the equipment, giving the space the intimate feel Lewis wanted for writing and working closely with artists.
Sessions can be booked in three ways: room hire for independent work, recording support, or production with Cadyn. There is a two-hour minimum, and no membership is required to make a booking. Current availability and the session total are shown through the Studio Inconclusive booking page.
Part of Chichester’s story
The opening coincides with a wider conversation about the area’s future. Chichester’s Story launched at Pallant House Gallery on 16 September 2026, bringing businesses and organisations together around the district’s identity, opportunities and ambitions.
The council’s launch report, also published by Chichester Living, featured Lewis’s experience of establishing KDYN Music Limited’s studio and record label locally with help from the Economic Development team. A subsequent film shared by Chichester District Council explored his experience of building a music business in the area and working with visiting artists.
His connection to Chichester has grown through the people he has met: musicians who care about their craft and a welcoming local business community. The studio gives those relationships a place to develop, and visiting artists a base from which to get to know the area.
A local base, an international release programme
The studio opens during a busy month for Origins. Clarissa Mae released the love songs ep on 18 September, a five-song debut produced by Lewis. Justin Magnaye’s “No Hesi” arrived on 4 September. Bootie Grove’s “Jazz Spot Intro” introduces Japan Trip, the seven-track EP scheduled for 25 September, drawing on places and moments from his travels.
September has also brought three new music-video shoots across the UK, US and Australia. In the UK, Clarissa’s “bed crumbs” was shot on 16mm film, with Lewis playing bass on set. The new Chichester room adds a physical base to this ongoing work across recordings, performance and visual storytelling.
Alongside the music, Origins has been developing the practical support around its releases. Its February integration of RosterRoyalties, founded by Lewis, enables monthly artist statements and faster reconciliation. The acquisition of DiscoverNü brought an established music-discovery platform into the company. The studio addresses another everyday need: a place to create.
