Bootie Grove begins the Japan Trip EP with ‘Jazz Spot Intro’
Inside the work
Inspired by the Tokyo jazz bar of the same name, Jazz Spot Intro introduced Bootie Grove’s Japan Trip EP. The single and the full seven-track EP are out now through Origins Inconclusive.
Released on 28 August 2026, Jazz Spot Intro was the first single from Japan Trip. Its restless rhythm and layered jazz textures draw on the energy of Tokyo, recalling one particular moment from Bootie Grove’s travels.
The Toulouse-based producer and multi-instrumentalist built the wider project around how he felt during different parts of the trip. Each track is connected to a place, a moment or an emotion, with the process of composing offering a way to experience the journey again.
Update — 25 September 2026: Japan Trip is now available in full. Jazz Spot Intro appears third in the seven-track sequence. Read the release-day feature below for Bootie’s words, the artwork and the complete tracklist.
