Francois McCrary joined Origins Inconclusive in early 2025, aged 16, with a creative practice spanning writing, singing, production, instruments, mixing, mastering and directing his own visuals.
From Day and Night to BLUR
His single Day and Night introduced that approach to listeners in the United States, Brazil and the Philippines. The campaign also brought him from Amsterdam to London to film with Origins founder Cadyn Lewis, before returning to sessions with Armada Music Publishing and Origins Inconclusive.

A self-directed sound
His influences include Joyce Wrice, FLO, DESTIN CONRAD and KAYTRANADA. Contemporary R&B, electronic pop and soulful textures meet in his work, with the same attention extending to performance and visuals.
He comes from a musical family: his father, Alfred McCrary, has credits with Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson and Diana Ross, while his mother, Natascha Wright, is known for La Bouche. Francois’s work brings that background into a project shaped by his own writing and production.
Working with Origins Inconclusive
Cadyn Lewis works closely with Francois across the project, supporting the development of his records and the creative direction surrounding them.

At the time of this introduction, Shoulda Woulda Coulda was scheduled for 4 July 2025, with further music leading towards BLUR. The album was subsequently released on 5 September 2025.
