Inside the work

Clarissa Mae’s ‘bed crumbs’ official music video is out now. Shot on 16mm at Bean World Studios, the WOP VISUALS production brings a band performance to a song from her debut, the love songs EP.

Released on 13 October 2026, the video gives “bed crumbs” its own visual chapter following the arrival of the love songs EP. The London-based singer-songwriter’s five-track debut was released through Origins Inconclusive on 18 September, with production by Cadyn Lewis.

A song about the things left unsaid

In the lyrics shared alongside the video, everyday intimacy sits beside uncertainty. Breakfast in bed, late-night calls and familiar routines share space with questions about what the other person really means. The repeated insistence that everything is “fine” keeps giving way to a request for honesty.

That tension connects “bed crumbs” to the personal world of the EP. Across the collection, Clarissa writes about affection, insecurity and growing up; here, the details of a relationship carry both its comfort and its unease. The video places her at the centre of a band performance, letting expression, movement and the room around her carry the song’s story.

A 16mm film by Paolo Sarli and Joseph Heap

Produced by WOP VISUALS, the video is directed and edited by Paolo Sarli, with director of photography and colour credits going to Joseph Heap. Between them, their previous credits include work with Joy Crookes, Unflirt, venbee and Leonie Biney.

The shoot took place at Bean World Studios. Timber framing, plants and warm light surround Clarissa and the band, while the 16mm film gives the finished video a visible grain and softness. It continues a visual story that has already included childhood photographs for “shy” and a family camcorder for “anyway”.

The cast includes Cadyn Jay Lewis Page, known as KDYN, Robert Adoo Kissi-Debrah and CJ Ragrag. Lewis appears on bass, bringing the EP’s producer into the performance on screen. Natalie Vest-Jones handled artist makeup, with Max Tesmann-Sturge photographing the shoot behind the scenes.

Sire spotlights the S5 guitar and U7 bass

Ahead of the release, Sire’s official Instagram account shared a preview of the video, highlighting the Sire S5 and U7 featured in the shoot. Published on 12 October, the post announced that “Bed Crumbs” would arrive the following day and tagged Clarissa, KDYN and Origins Inconclusive, crediting KDYN on bass.

From the love songs EP

“bed crumbs” joins “love songs”, “shy”, “anyway” and “translate” on the love songs EP. The debut is available now, and the new video extends the project beyond its September release with a film centred on Clarissa and the musicians around her.
