Inside the work

Justin Magnaye’s new single ‘show up’ is out now through Origins Inconclusive. Following ‘no hesi’, it is the second single from his NITROBOY project.

Released on 9 October 2026, “show up” continues the Filipino-American singer, songwriter and producer’s latest run of music with the label. September’s “no hesi” introduced this chapter; the new R&B single gives listeners the next part of NITROBOY.

Justin takes the writing, production and mixing credits himself, with mastering by Edward Cai. That hands-on approach runs through his work: the songs and the recordings come from the same creative voice. “show up” continues a partnership with Origins Inconclusive that includes his 2025 album LOVERBOY.

The artwork carries the NITROBOY visual world forward. Two white performance cars sit beneath glowing lanterns, with blurred lights filling the scene and small racing flags and a speedometer in the corner. After the green car on the “no hesi” cover, the new image keeps the night-time setting and racing references while giving this single its own identity.

The release follows a busy September for Justin, who performed at New Jersey’s Filipino American Festival with a four-piece band shortly after “no hesi” arrived. Now there is another record to spend time with as NITROBOY takes shape.
